The Cause & Effect Puzzle Collection which was developed in Clicker 5 is inclusive of over fifty finished puzzles which are divided into five subfolders of activities or gridsets.

In addition there is a subfolder which contains the underlying template which can be easily used to create or modify any of the existing finished activities to meet individual student needs. We have also provided you with an additional subfolder called “My Puzzles” where you can save the puzzles you create. When you click on the different subfolders you will get a listing of the finished puzzles within that subfolder.

Example: Animal Subfolder contents shown above: Each of the over fifty puzzles has four pieces. The child can click anywhere on the puzzle and a piece will be removed from the puzzle. After four clicks students will be presented with the completed puzzle. They will receive a sound effect at that point and stars will be visually displayed in the upper left and lower right hand corners to signify that they have completed the puzzle. Then after an approximate two and a half second delay either a short video (matching and enhancing the picture) or a sound clip will be played to enhance the effect (i.e. a thunder and lightning sound clip will be played along with a photo of an electrical storm). It was our goal in this project to provide a wide range of puzzle content that would be appropriate for all ages. Additionally we hope that by supplying corresponding video in every case but one that we would enhance the learning experience and understanding of the student through both movement and sound.

This screenshot is of the “train” puzzle from the vehicles subfolder. This image presents what the student will see after removing three pieces of the puzzle (i.e. after clicking three times). On the fourth click the last piece of the puzzle will be removed showing the entire picture without the puzzle lines. Then after a short delay a video will play showing the train moving towards you while the engineer toots the train’s horn.

This example shows two pieces of the puzzle being removed. This “Waterfall” puzzle inclusive of a dramatic video can be found in the miscellaneous subfolder.

This screenshot shows the photo of a multi-colored crab seen on the beaches of St. Kitts in the West Indies. Note, that the sound clip has been played and the stars in the upper and lower corners have been displayed to the student indicating that the puzzle has been completed (i.e. the four parts have been removed). In 2.2 seconds a video will then be played that shows the crab sidling across the sand while making a hasty retreat to the ocean’s waters. In closing, we believe that the easy-to-use template and the user documentation included on this CD will provide you with an excellent opportunity to create your own puzzles and additional curriculum material for your students using Clicker 5.
