This activity documents the decisive battle between the British and Spanish in what is now the State of Georgia. The British and the Scottish Highlanders who fought alongside of them, defeated the Spanish and Native Americans at this site in 1742. The British were led by James Oglethorpe and proved to be the most decisive battle fought for what is now the State of Georgia

Developed in a template from the Learning Magic "The Writing Bin" CD students first read about the battle and how it occurred and then have the opportunity to write their own account while being supported by a built in toolbar which provides vocabulary support for the activity.
