Bats

This gridset initially provides reading information about where bats live, what their physical characteristics and some of their unique traits and habits are. Students then can express their understanding of the subject matter through a follow-on writing activity, and a labeling activity of a bat's primary body parts.

Then students have an opportunity to sort physical characteristics and abilities of birds and bats into three separate areas using a venn diagram (i.e. what is unique to bats, what is unique to birds, and what do bats and birds have in common).
